When choosing the Thule Rapid System Roof Bars for your car you can choose between two types of load bars - the Aero bar with easy mounting of accessories and a Classic Square bar.
They each come as 2-pack and are equipped with a laser marked graduated scale at each end to enable an exact setting of the load carrier feet before you place them on the car, no fiddling about to get the width of the bars right for your car.
The Aero bars from Thule are made of aluminum, which gives them an elegant, lightweight and aerodynamic design. They are provided with a T-track slot, into which you simply slide the accessory and it is secured into place. Aluminium Aero bars are as strong as the Square steel bars.
Traditional square bars are made of strong galvanized steel (dimensions 32 x 22 mm) and coated with black heavy duty 2 or 3 mm polyethylene to maximize resistance to corrosion and also to cushion and grip any equipment you mount to them. Accessories are mounted using clamps which secure around the bar. Which option is right for me?

Square Bars: rest assured that any equipment you are going mount to the bars will fit. All the roof bar mounted accessories (boxes, decks, clamps etc.) we retail will fit to these bars. You will have no problems fitting anything from a budget range cycle carrier to a large premium roof box.
Aero Bars: Most of Thule's own equipment will fit to these bars, however some of their older style products may not fit, or may require adaptors in order to fit. Also other manufactures accessories may not fit to these bars.
